Communities powered by technology can do more good than ever before.

Full is on a mission to empower neighborhood community organizations. We create modern tools that exponentially grow impact, while reducing administrative workload.

The Full Story

We started because of a need in our community, and a belief that no person should go hungry.

In 2020, our co-founder Aaron Brown’s food pantry in SE Portland Oregon faced a seemingly insurmountable challenge: hundreds of community member poured into his food pantry, and the State’s health guidelines required social distancing due to COVID-19.

For Brown, this presented multiple challenges: language barriers, limited resources, and little funding to meet the need.

In response, Brown teamed up with long-time friend Jesse Richardson. Together, they built a scrappy, no-code solution allowing community members to schedule visits + order ahead in multiple languages.

The response was extraordinary: in first few weeks, over 227 neighbors used the system to reserve groceries in advance. This rapid adoption also meant better insight into the community’s needs, more data for planning distributions, and the ability to reach more people.

Over the last 4 years, Full has continued to focus on building better solutions for our neighbors and the amazing people who run local organizations. Starting in 2024, Full released the first map-based national food finder, bringing over 50,000 food pantries “online” from across the country (at no cost).

Since 2020, Full has helped serve over 150,000 Oregonians through it’s network of over dozen community organizations and healthcare partners.

Why are local organizations so important?

Social service programs are critical for millions of Americans.

However, not all programs address a family’s full needs. Community organizations are often the stopgap, many times being the only thing preventing homelessness and hunger. Community orgs also provide healing, community, friendship, and chances to giveback. Many volunteers come from within the community.

It’s estimated that over 40 million Americans currently use programs through food pantries and food banks to supplement or provide meals.
